Real Stories, Real Impact
Alex Petrakov | Winter 2024
“Going into any technical internship, you really expect to focus on the technical side of things, but I think what really pushed me were the soft skills training and things that I didn't really expect to develop. It really benefited me and drove me to try to do things on my own time and better communicate with my placement company. As a result of that, it really gave me confidence.
A lot of those skills have transferred over and have even helped me land my current position at AHS as a software developer in the clinical development team.“
Patricia Trinidad | Fall 2024
"My time with ELIXR has allowed me to confidently say that even when I struggle, the staff and environment provide a good support system. Lauren has repeatedly encouraged me that I am doing well, which was always a good push for me both personally and career-wise. I am forever grateful for that.
As for technical skills, I learned a new workflow for creating and designing assets because VR itself requires much more optimization, such as better topology, polycount, UV mapping, texturing, materials, and more.
My goal in life was to land a permanent job in the XR field and thanks to the program and Lauren's encouragement, I eventually did—securing a full-time role with vrCAVE."
