
Dr. Baradaran Rahimi brings over 15 years of expertise in teaching, research, and design, where he has actively collaborated with both academic institutions as well as community and industry partners. His work is driven by a passion for creating immersive and impactful learning experiences, and his contributions to the field have earned him recognition as a nominee for the Canada Research Chair in Immersive Learning. Through innovative strategies and the application of emerging technologies, Dr. Rahimi seeks to transform educational approaches in both formal and informal educational settings. His research emphasizes interactive, engaging, and experiential learning, aiming to enhance how people connect with and absorb knowledge. Throughout his career, Dr. Rahimi has played a key role in multiple award-winning interdisciplinary projects that bridge various fields and domains such as art, design, computer science, learning sciences, museum studies, game studies, and archeology. His collaborations include significant partnerships with renowned organizations such as the University of Calgary, Université Laval, Alberta Education, Alberta Culture and Tourism, the Virtual Museum of Canada, the Military Museums of Alberta, TELUS World of Science, ELIXR Simulations, and Calgary Contemporary. His research findings and project outcomes have been widely disseminated through publications in leading journals and presentations at respected conferences around the world.
